An employee who retired from The Brownsword Group at the end of 2014 will be abseiling for charity this September.
Doris Higginbotham worked in our Accounts Department for 16 yrs, and has previously parachuted and ‘adopted a granny’ for charity. We knew retirement would never be boring for Doris though, with travel plans to put any gap year student to shame. She travelled to China in February this year with her eldest son Phil and they visited Shanghei (pic.), Wuchen, Zian, Beijing, Hong King and Macau, in just 13 days – and now an abseil from an old railway bridge in Derbyshire!
It is lovely to keep tabs on previous employees of The Brownsword Group, and we have shown our support with donations via Doris’ Just Giving page. She is raising money for the New Mills & District Volunteer Centre which keeps her busy as their treasurer. They are committed to helping local people with transport, shopping and befriending services to name just a few of their activities.
