The Brownsword Group has been awarded the BS102000 accreditation for the Provision of Investigatory Services, after a successful audit by the SSAIB.
Following the House of Commons Select Committee report into the regulation of private investigators, the British Standards Institute revealed that Private Investigators have the opportunity to attain the new accreditation: British Standard 102000.
The standard is high and is comparable with the requirements needed to be a full member of the Association of British Investigators. Companies need to prove they adhere to a code of conduct, have knowledge of relevant legislation, conduct due diligence, and that all staff and subcontractors should be selected and screened under: BS 7858.
Pivotal to the British Standard is that companies are fully aware of relevant legislation and required due diligence as well as being conversant with the processes around investigations, specifically around knowledge of planning, resourcing, and gathering information whilst conducting an investigation.
